    HomeBuys is a privately owned retailer in Columbus, Ohio, and we have an open position for an AP Accountant. This is a full-time, salaried position and currently a hybrid working environment (Friday's working remotely). The AP Accountant will play a key role within the accounting team and assist with our growth and subsequent increase in transactional volume.

    **Role & Responsibilities **(will evolve and amend based on company needs)
    · Execute accounting principles in compliance with internal controls for (1) general ledger accuracy (2) P&L accuracy and (3) reporting accuracy
    · Consider key accounting principles in accordance with daily work
    · Identify irregularities and variances against operational control criterion
    · Operate within NetSuite to input, extract and maintain data integrity
    · Independently and proactively resolve discrepancies using financial analytics and related techniques
    · Reconcile and maintain invoices/receipts, travel expense, payments, and bank disbursements, etc. to clear general ledger accounts
    · Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations in accordance with accounting activities ensuring accurate general ledger and resulting managerial reports and financial statements
    · Answer/respond to internal customer and supplier inquiries and analyze incoming questions or variances
    · Assist with special projects and ad-hoc analysis
    · Identify areas of opportunity and recommend solutions for achieving optimal efficiency and effectiveness.

    **Qualifications
    ** · BS/BA in Accounting or related field
    · 0-2 years of general accounting experience
    · Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, formulas)
    · Ability to effectively interact verbally and in writing to team members, customers, vendors & store managers
    · A self-starter with a positive demeanor
    · Ability to work in a fast pace and changing environment
    · NetSuite and Retail experience a plus
