Mortgage Closing Manager
Job Description
The primary objective of the Closing Manager is to facilitate the departments preparing and delivering final closing documents to conclude settlement and contribute to production, as necessary. The Closing Manager is responsible for ensuring closing staff examine loan files for accuracy and completeness, auditing various documents including CD’s, invoices and fees for compliance and accuracy, assures funding by clearing necessary conditions, working with team members to resolve and remedy issues that could delay closing docs. The Closing Manager assures the closing staff adheres to all company policy and procedures and investor guidelines. The Closing Manager leads by example building a cohesive team of mortgage closers. Communicating and executing to achieve quality and production goals, while providing ongoing staff training to improve both personal and professional growth within the organization.
LEADERSHIP
Supervise the closing of loans that adhere to PSI’s Mortgage service level standards/guidelines and
agency/investor guidelines ensuring compliance to all mortgage related regulatory agencies.
Engage other department managers as needed to ensure a close working relationship between all departments for maximum efficiency.
Engage in company initiatives, projects, and meetings as related to closing.
Interface with Operations Management regarding trending loan issues, client trends, and production trends
Provide executive management with any feedback that may make the closing process more efficient and/or
provide for higher quality control; and perform other related duties as assigned by management.
Recruit and develop closing talent as directed and participates in the development of new hire departmental training guides.
Manage all processes within the department and continuously evaluates for process improvement and greater efficiencies.
Encourage closers and team leads to make educated decisions based on knowledge and experience.
COMPLIANCE
Monitor and manage pipeline to ensure compliance, quality, and on-time closings.
Participate in the management and revision of PSI Closing Policies & Procedures manual
INITIAL CLOSING DISCLOSURE
The closer receives notification of a new ICD request via group box.
Reviews and completes closing tasks by checklist.
Ensures all fees, payoffs, invoices and loan setup are correct.
Confirms disclosures are compliant and sends ICD to borrower(s) and staff as directed
GENERATE CLOSING DOCUMENTS
Reviews file by checklist
Coordinates with processing, title and sales on drawing and delivery of final documents
Ensures final package meets all policies and procedures of PSI lending, federal law, state law and
investor guidelines
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
You may be required to proactively participate in company meetings and coordinate with management to ensure that expectations are met. You are required to participate in all Company-sponsored training, and attend all mandatory Company meetings, as well as continue to maintain regulator-required licensing and continuing education requirements.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
· 5 years as a mortgage loan closer
· 1 year of management experience
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers via multiple technologies or in person, in a positive and professional manner.
· Computer and internet proficiency, and use of applications such as our LOS, CRM, and Microsoft Office.
· Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing excellent customer service, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
· Excellent knowledge of closing docs, mortgage assignments processes and title/appraisal review, understating of title policies, Final Recorded Mortgages, Power of Attorney's, other mortgage related documents
· Understands FHA, VA and Agency required documents, and systems used
· Flexible to work extended hours during peak volume periods as needed
