Our Companion and Personal Caregiver employees are not only reliable, dependable and honest, but also compassionate and caring. A key part of this position is helping our clients stay connected with the outside world by taking them to appointments, social outings, or helping them run errands. Helping to maintain a safe and comfortable home environment is an equally important part of the job. We are looking for caregivers that are interested in learning and growing their skills within the senior care industry.
Caregivers provide paraprofessional services to the agency’s home care clients, as assessed in the care plan and in compliance with the client’s Service Agreement.

Duties of Home Care Aides/Companion Caregivers may include:
Light housekeeping
Menu planning, meal preparation and set up
Laundry and linen change
Transportation/shopping
Bathing and dressing assistance set up only
Safety and companionship
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
Experience as a caregiver in a home care setting or skilled facility.
Must be able to function with minimal supervision, accepting personal responsibility for maintaining a professional relationship with the client.
Must accept responsibility for maintaining skills and learning on an ongoing basis, as well as adhering to agency policies.
Must pass all background screening with satisfactory results.
Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Must possess effective communication skills
Major Responsibilities
Responsible for assisting the agency’s clients with their personal care needs in accordance with the care plan.
Responsible for assisting clients with activities of daily living in a safe and beneficial manner.
Caregivers must be observant enough to recognize changes in their clients, and be capable of alerting the appropriate personnel when necessary.
Does not administer medication or perform any procedures requiring the knowledge or skills of a licensed nurse or registered therapist.
California Specific Requirements
Be registered on the California Department of Social Services (CDSS) online registry system located at https://secure.dss.ca.gov/ccld/hcsregistry/
Be fingerprinted and submit to CDSS through Live scan
Successfully clear a background check (submit Criminal Record Statement)
Possess a valid form of Identification (i.e. California Driver’s License)
Possess a Tuberculosis Clearance (no more than 90 days old) or if positive for TB, possess a chest x-ray indicating that they are free of TB
Complete the ongoing training requirement of 5 hours per year
Physical Qualifications
Able to work an average of 20-40 hours per week.
Able to bend, climb, stoop, and stand an average of 5 hours per day.
Able to lift 20-30 pounds.
Able to use tools necessary for job.
