    Job Description

    Honda Performance Development, Inc., a leader in motorsports racing is seeking a highly organized and detailed oriented DEVELOPMENT CONTINGENT ENGINEER to join its Racing program in Santa Clarita, California.

    Responsibilities include perform and report on testing relating to the development of Honda engines, engine systems or other powertrain systems as required.  Collect Data from testing on dynamometers, test rigs, and any other external test facilities.  Subsequent analysis and reporting is required.  Development may include performance, cost function, drivability and/or reliability of engines, engine systems and/or powertrain components per project goals.  Must complete writing test requests, daily progress reports and test reports. Present a concise presentation of testing results, analysis, conclusions and suggestions for future development as needed.

    Requirements are: BS degree in (Mechanical/Electrical) Engineering with relevant automotive focus in studies and activities preferred. 1 to 3 years’ experience with Formula SAE or similar automotive or motorsports related projects a plus; Experienced with 3D CAD software and reading schematic drawings. Must have strong data analysis, problem-solving and report writing skills. Ability to utilize on-car data analysis software (logged data, telemetry, etc.); program software (MATLAB/Simulink, C+, Visual Basic, etc.) and analyze with simulation tools such as FEA, CFD, etc. Must have the ability to work in team environment with minimal supervision, be self-directed, detailed oriented.
