    Our busy legal firm is looking for applicants who live in Nevada with great organizational skills, the ability to multitask, self-motivation, strong attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and help wherever needed for our Carson City office. You’ll assist with the preparation of legal documents and handle office correspondence including answering phone calls and emails, arranging meetings, and calendaring. Hooks Meng & Clement specializes in Workers’ Compensation Insurance Defense, OSHA Employer Representation, Subrogation, Subsequent Injury, and Industrial Insurance Litigation by defending employers, insurers, third-party administrators, and others. This is an in-office position (Non-Remote). Responsibilities: • Conduct legal research, when necessary, with guidance from attorneys and paralegals. • Ensure client billing is processed properly using daily time records. • Work with attorneys and paralegals to create various legal documents, including pleadings, motions, subpoenas, affidavits, contracts, and briefs for case preparation. • Keen attention to detail to proofread documents as needed. • Make copies, fax, and scan documents. • Prepare packets for hearings and courts. • Responsible for supporting attorneys by performing a variety of administrative duties to ensure the firm and cases run smoothly. • Answer phones, take messages, and assist callers. • Communicate with court personnel, opposing counsel, and clients. Qualifications: • Must be able to type 50 wpm or faster with a high rate of accuracy. • Strong organizational and communication skills. • Proficient in the use of standard office software, including all Microsoft Office products. • Experience with legal software, billing software, electronic case management, and docketing programs is preferred, but not required. • Experience in the legal industry and familiarity with legal documents and terminology is highly desired. • Ability to provide excellent customer experience, utilizing strong customer service for frequent interaction with court personnel, opposing counsel, and clients. • As we are largely paperless, you will need to understand how to work in a digital environment with PDFs and other digital formats. • Ability to effectively prioritize and meet deadlines. • Ability to work as a team with attorneys and other staff as well as discipline to work independently. • Must have Nevada Driver’s license. • Bring A-Game Daily. Compensation: $45,000+ DOE
