Your next opportunity awaits at Horizon Staffing Resources! Horizon Staffing Resources is seeking 10 (ten) qualified paraprofessionals in Bergen County, NJ. The goal of the paraprofessional is to help the students gain independence. The positions are in-class support roles with potential to work directly with one or two students. These positions are in special needs school settings, working in the classroom with to help in child supervision, academics, daily living activities, and all other related tasks. Pre-K through K, Pre-K through 5th grade, and Middle School through High School with 18-21-year-old transition classes available. Must be comfortable working with students of special needs with varying disabilities. Schedule: Monday through Friday - 8:30 - 3:00 OR 7:45- 2:45 based on school setting Responsibilities: • Supervise students to ensure child safety in the classroom, cafeteria, schoolyard, specials, hallways • Assist students in daily living activities such as toileting/diapering, feeding, therapy exercises, etc. • Attend to students' physical, personal, academic, and emotional needs • Provide instructional reinforcement for individual students • Support students with special needs by following provisions specified in their IEPs/504 Plans • Perform other duties as directed by the classroom teacher and school administration. Requirements • Child supervision experience preferred • Previous experience with special needs children preferred • Excellent communication skills • Experience with 1-1 care a plus! • Must have or be willing to get fingerprinted by the Board of Education.
