    Job Title- C-Store Manager

    Department- C-Store

    Reports to- General Manager, Director of C-Store

    Summary

    Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in receiving cash or credit card payment for merchandise or services and keeping records of funds received in retail establishments or places of public accommodation. Operates cash register to itemize and total customers purchases in gas, deli, grocery, beer, liquor, tobacco, lottery, scratch offs, money orders, Western union, Cat scale or other retail items by performing the following duties.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    Directly supervises employees in the Convenience Store. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies, procedures and applicable laws. Responsibilities include maintaining inventory, balancing daily sales, balancing all cash registers per shift, interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems

    Train and develop all new hires

    Verify cashiers daily paperwork to ensure balancing of each shift

    Make deposits to bank in a timely manner to ensure accuracy of daily sales reports

    Make change for cashiers as needed

    Ensure open/close of shifts are done in a timely manner according to policy

    Maintaining inventory control

    Check all Vendors deliveries to ensure invoice is correct

    Records daily transaction amounts from cash register to balance drawer

    Bags merchandise, issues receipts, and redeems promotional coupons

    Review price sheets to note price accuracy and changes on gas, deli, beer, liquor, or tobacco and all sale items

    Records prices and departments in an accurate manner on the register to ensure taxable items and totals are correct

    Stock and clean shelves, and mark prices on items

    Collect cash, check, or charge payment from customer, make change for cash transactions

    Counts money in cash drawer at beginning and end of work shift to ensure money balances with sales

    Use the register to swipe all identification to sell tobacco, beer, liquor and lottery tickets to ensure of legal age to purchase

    Promote and ensure customer satisfaction on all purchases

    Greet all customers as they enter the store

    Maintain a positive attitude to ensure productive team work

    Performs cashiering and other clerical duties to relieve subordinates during breaks and busy periods

    Reconciles cash register totals with cash and receipts in register to verify accuracy of transactions.

    Keeps custody of operating funds, or retains next day's operating funds from daily sales.

    Allocates and balances operating funds to cashiering stations. Totals and summarizes funds received, balances and prepares bank deposit slip.

    Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow. Issues written and oral instructions

    Enforces disciplinary action where needed in a timely manner

    Evaluates employees according to company policy

    Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures. Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of cashiers. Maintains harmony among workers and resolves grievances.

    Adjusts any errors and addresses complaints in a timely manner. Counts money in cash drawer at beginning and end of work shift to ensure money balances with sales

    Qualifications

    Education and/or Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

    Language Skills

    Ability to read and comprehend the English language for simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees of the organization

    Mathematical Skills

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

    Computer Skills

    Ability to use cash register, 10-key calculator, count money, lottery machine, money orders, word, excel, payroll programs, scanner

    Required Certifications and Licenses

    It is the responsibility of the C-Store Manager to ensure all cashier’s maintain at all times a valid State and Parish Certifications and/or Licenses. Must have them with them while on duty and presented to management or official when asked.

    Must maintain the following

    Alcohol Beverage ordinance Card ( by Parish)

    Louisiana Responsible Vendors Permit

    Valid State Identification card or driver’s license

    Copy of Social Security Card
