    Job Description

    PIRTEK, the nation’s leading provider for on-site hydraulic and industrial hose assembly and replacement, is hiring for a Hose Assembly & Installation Technician to service, assemble, and install hydraulic and industrial hoses for a diverse customer base in the Charleston, SC area.

    We are looking for a highly driven and self-sufficient individual with excellent communication and customer service skills. Our most successful Technicians are:

    Hydraulic and industrial hose experience is NOT required! Each Hose Assembly & Installation Technician is provided complete training on industry knowledge, PIRTEK processes, safety standards, and how to operate your purpose-built mobile service unit. PIRTEK also provides support through a 24/7 hotline for Technicians to ask technical questions.

    Responsibilities

    Adhere to all industry and PIRTEK safety standards

    Carry out service calls & customer acquisition visits in your local area

    Identify faulty hoses and/or hose assemblies to service the customers’ needs

    Remove worn or broken hoses before fabricating and installing the new replacement

    Ensure oil spills / environmental contaminants, due to hose failure and/or repair, are cleaned or contained to the customer’s satisfaction (as well as federal, state and local regulations)

    Input service details into the online database to create accurate invoices

    Develop relationships with new and existing customers

    Maintain mobile service unit, tools, and equipment

    Ensure customer satisfaction by resolving issues on-site and conducting frequent follow-up visits

    Participate in the rotating On-Call schedule (with increased incentive pay)

    Perform other related duties as assigned

    Work Environment

    You will be operating out of a purpose-built mobile service unit – a workshop-van that is outfitted with all the tools and machinery needed to successfully service your local area.

    Territory-based service areas

    Service locations may differ in terrain, noise level, temperature, common amenities available, etc.

    Oil, grease, lubricant, and other “messy” substances are frequently used

    You may be required to travel for training, at no cost to you

    Skills & Abilities Needed

    Mechanically inclined – consistent use of hand tools & specialized equipment is required

    Can safely & lawfully drive a large work van

    Good communication skills (verbal and written)

    Self-motivated & positive attitude through difficult jobs

    Able to work independently and as a team

    Sit, stand, kneel, bend, and/or stoop from moderate to extended periods

    Safely use ladders, step-ups, stairs, etc.

    Lift up to 50 pounds

    Qualifications

    High School diploma or GED

    Valid driver’s license with clean driving record

    Ability to pass a background check & drug screening

    Experience in industrial development & construction, automotive / marine / field mechanics or a related industry is a plus
