    Position Overview

    Optigy is seeking experienced Hospitalist Physicians, including Nocturnists, for a long-term locum opportunity in Kansas City, MO. This role supports a large, high-acuity Level I Trauma Center with full specialty backup and a well-established hospital medicine program. Providers will work within a collaborative, team-based care model.

    Requirements

    • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine

    • Comfortable working in a Level I Trauma Center environment

    • Ability to manage high-acuity inpatient medical patients

    • No procedures

    • Willingness to work day or night shifts based on availability

    • Clean file preferred for presentation

    Responsibilities

    • Provide comprehensive inpatient medical care to adult patients

    • Manage admissions, rounding, and cross-coverage responsibilities

    • Collaborate with intensivists, specialty consultants, and advanced practice providers

    • Participate in multidisciplinary care for critically ill patients

    • Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the EMR

    Position Details

    • Schedule: Flexible scheduling (Day and Night options available)

    • Day Coverage Model:

      • 6 MD/DOs (7am–7pm): 1 admitting, 5 rounding

      • 3 NP/PAs (7am–7pm): rounding

    • Night Coverage Model:

      • 1 NP/PA (5pm–5am): cross coverage

      • 1 MD/DO (7pm–7am): admitting

    • On-call: No

    • Contract Type:

      • Daily OT after 12 hours (based on differential)

      • Requisition Reason: Full-Time Vacancy

    • 590-bed hospital

    • Open ICU model with intensivist support

    • 44-bed Critical Care/ICU

    • 24/7 Critical Care Program

    • Full specialty support available

    • Participation in a developing ECMO program
