About the Role:
At Dairy Queen, we don’t just make treats—we create smiles and positive memories for our customers (fans). As a Hospitality Crew Member, you help bring that experience to life by ensuring the overall success of the hospitality job function. This includes all customer service operations, ensuring all prepared products meet the restaurant standards of quality and cleaning and maintaining all customer areas in a clean, safe, pleasant manner and to all restaurant safety and health code standards. This role combines attention to detail and operational awareness to ensure our fans have an experience in accordance with established PRIDE standards.
This position is full-time, 9:00am - 5:00pm. Must be available for shifts to be scheduled Monday-Friday, as well as Sunday.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service Operations
Enthusiastically greet and welcome fans to the Dairy Queen brand.
Assist fans with menu navigation and product ingredient questions.
Strive to exceed fan expectations and deliver fan first service through timely and quality service.
Calmly solve fan concerns and embrace Dairy Queen’s service recovery standards.
Properly and safely operate and maintain restaurant equipment including related service equipment while following all health and safety standards.
Initiate and complete customer transactions quickly and accurately.
Process customer transactions and maintain an accurate cash drawer throughout shift.
Assemble and deliver orders to customers quickly and efficiently.
Clean work area, organize and stock needed items. Move various treats, paper and cleaning items from other sections of the building (or outside building) to the immediate work area.
Completes assigned prep work for stocking and set up of Hospitality area.
Prepare products quickly and accurately, while following all preparation, health and safety standards and guidelines when needed.
Assist with end of day cleaning.
Fan Experience
Be an ambassador of the Dairy Queen brand and be professional in every aspect of performance.
Enthusiastically greet and welcome fans.
Answer fan questions about product ingredients and preparation.
Calmly solve fan concerns and embrace Dairy Queen’s service recovery standards.
Strive to exceed fan expectations and deliver fan-first service through timely and quality service.
Teamwork & Hospitality Operations
Communicate clearly, quickly and politely with co-workers to ensure correct order is served to the customers.
Be pleasant and alert to customer needs.
Be a willing team player and maintain a cooperative, harmonious working relationship with management and fellow team members.
Create and maintain a positive, clean, and inviting environment for fans and team members
At all times exhibit a genuine passion for excellence.
Breaks down and cleans Hospitality thoroughly at the end of every day as assigned by a manager or shift leader. Wash counters, tables, restrooms, trash receptacles, gather trash and remove from dining/service areas to proper receptacle, sweep, mop, stock and other cleaning tasks. Occasional need to be out of building (i.e., parking lot, freezer, trash container areas, etc.) for parking lot pick-up, trash removal and other maintenance and cleaning activities. Informs immediate supervisor promptly of all problems or unusual matters of significance.
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by management
Qualifications & Requirements:
Ability to practice established food handling procedures and comply with any local health regulations.
Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with fans (customers) and team members.
Excellent customer service skills; demonstrates good manners, a positive attitude, and professionalism at all times.
Reliable and punctual with a strong sense of personal accountability.
A team player with a willingness to learn, take direction, and support others.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and accuracy.
Ability to stand for long periods of time, frequently bend and twist, and occasionally lift up to 50lbs.
Comfortable working in and out of an environment with different temperature ranges.
Ability to clean up after all kinds of messy situations.
Willingness to work around common allergens, including nuts.
Ability to read order monitors.

Reports To:
Daily direction from Shift Lead or Manager on Duty.
Overall Supervision and performance management from General Manager.
