Qualifications/Education/Skills:

High School Diploma or equivalent

Previous janitorial experience

Good communication skills

Professional dress and demeanor

Must possess an upbeat and outgoing personality

Eager to help the guests with any need they have

Job Purpose:

The Houseman is first and foremost in charge of creating a fresh and inviting atmosphere for guests by making sure all of the areas of the hotel are clean and inviting. The Houseman plays a role in seeing to every guest’s needs and offering help to the guests and housekeeping department where needed. The Houseman will be trained to be cross-utilized in all areas of the hotel.

Essential Functions:

Create a fresh and inviting atmosphere for guests by making sure all areas of the hotel are clean

Maintain the common areas such as lobby, hallways, activity areas, fitness center, Courtyard, parking lot, and laundry rooms. Other areas as assigned

Responsible for the inventory and stocking of each housekeeping utility closet on each floor.

May be asked to clean guest rooms to assist the Housekeeping team

Assists with set-ups for any activity in the hotel (including private and public events)

Assist with banquets, when assigned. This includes set up, tear down, and possible help during the event

Maintain a professional, happy demeanor

As guest pass in the common areas, ask how the stay is or if they can offer help in any way

Assist guests with luggage handling

Any other assigned duties as required

Interior setting, air-conditioned and brightly lit.
