Electrical Technician - New Orleans Tours
Now accepting applications for a Fleet Electrical Mechanic to work on a fleet of vans, shuttle busses, and motor coach busses.
Must be 21
Posses a valid CDL, Class B with Passenger Endorsement; or obtain after 90 days
MECP Basic Installation Technician Certification; or obtain after 90 days
1-2 years experience in fleet maintenance & repair
Experience installing/maintaining cameras, audio/visual, GPS and radar
Applicants must receive satisfactory results from a background check as conducted in accordance with applicable laws; and must pass a drug screening and meet Department of Transportation (DOT) and Company mental and physical requirements.
Job Description
Electronic Technician
Perform routine, scheduled and preventative maintenance inspections and required repairs to company standards
Debug and troubleshoot electronics on buses repairs on cameras, audio/video, GPS and radar
Repair and maintain buses and bus equipment
Test drive repaired equipment
Notifies supervisor of potentially dangerous equipment
Maintain a safe, clean, and productive work area
Motor Coach driving is occasionally required
Ability to use good judgment and decision-making skills to ensure safety and quality at all times
Ability to work well with others on the team in a high-pressure environment
Ability to receive and carry out instructions to perform work
Any other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
Prior electrical mechanic experience required
Ability to work independently yet in a team environment
MECP Basic Installation Technician Certification is preferred; must be able to obtain after 90 days
Must own and supply appropriate mechanic tools for necessary duties
Must possess a valid driver’s License
Willing to obtain CDL, Class B with Passenger Endorsement; or obtain after 90 days
Must have dependable transportation
Must work early mornings and evening shifts including weekends
Solid understanding and adherence to safety and environmental standards
Must be able to pass a background check, pre-employment drug screen and DOT physical
Upon hire, the person chosen will need to show proof of eligibility to work in the United States
Physical/Environmental Requirements:
Ability to frequently lift, push and/or pull weights in excess of 50 pounds, occasionally lift, push and/or pull weights in excess of 100 pounds from floor to above the shoulder and horizontally
Ability to push/pull up to 128 lbs for extensive periods of time.
Ability to perform repetitive tasks; stretch, turn, twist, and reach overhead; bend, crouch, squat, kneel and stoop for extensive periods of time
Working Conditions
Environmental working conditions vary and employee may encounter vibration, noise, odors, and extremes in temperature and wind as well as exposure to varied weather, varied surfaces, sharp edges, varied lighting and confined and congested areas and occasional exposure to petroleum-based products such as gasoline, diesel fuel, oil, grease, dust, fumes, and chemicals.
