Host/Food Runner
Job Summary:
As a Restaurant Host for R & R Breakfast Spot, your role is responsible for greeting guests, managing reservations, and ensuring a positive dining experience from the moment customers enter the establishment. Your position directly impacts team collaboration, customer satisfaction, and overall company goals. In an industry marked by evolving trends, your ability to adapt and drive excellence is vital. You will interact with kitchen staff, servers, and customers, holding an important position within the restaurant’s organizational structure. Success in this role is measured through key performance indicators (KPIs) like customer satisfaction ratings and team performance metrics.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Greeting Guests: Welcome customers warmly as they arrive, ensuring they feel valued and comfortable.
· Managing Wait Times: Provide accurate wait times for guests.
· Seating Arrangements: Escort customers to their tables, ensuring efficient seating while accommodating special requests when possible.
· Maintaining Cleanliness: Keep the host area organized and clean, including menus and waiting areas.
· Monitoring Restaurant Activity: Observe dining activity to manage seating flow and ensure tables are
ready for incoming guests.
· Food Delivery: Transport food and drinks from the kitchen to the appropriate tables, collaborate with
· kitchen staff and servers to coordinate orders ensuring that orders are accurate and presented well.
· Communication: Relay any special requests (i.e. Birthdays) or modifications from customers.
· Customer Service: Respond to guest inquiries and requests in a friendly and efficient manner, assisting
servers when necessary.
· Engagement: Interact with guests as they arrive and leave, ensuring a positive dining experience
throughout their visit.
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Communicate effectively orally and in writing.
· Manage multiple, concurrent and conflicting priorities and deadlines.
· Establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of customers, staff contacted during your job.
· Proficient with operating office equipment such as telephone, smart products.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Strong leadership skills.
· Ability to prioritize tasks.
· Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
· Basic understanding of how to operate standard business equipment.
Education and Experience:
· 1 year of restaurant experience
Physical Requirements:
· Prolonged periods of standing.
· Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
