    Matthew's Restaurant in San Marco is one of Jacksonville’s top fine dining restaurants that features inspired regional cuisine using locally sourced ingredients. From creative handmade pastas to sustainably raised meats and pristine local seafood, the menu at Matthew’s is carefully crafted each day based on availability and seasons.

    We are looking to grow our teams with positive, enthusiastic, like-minded people who share our energy and enthusiasm for creating the best possible dining experience for our guests.     Our Hosts greet our guests upon arrival, inform guests of their wait time, escort guests to their table, and bid guests farewell as they leave. You are a natural people person who can quickly build rapport with guests and create a welcoming atmosphere. Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple priorities, you rely on your excellent organization and communication skills. We are looking for a host to work part time, Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday nights.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    Be a brand ambassador, ensuring each guest has a memorable experience

    Greet incoming and departing guests with genuine appreciation

    Escort guests to assigned table and attend to special guests’ needs

    Manage the flow of guests into the Dining and Bar areas

    Answer incoming calls and provide appropriate service

    Support and assist fellow team members whenever possible

    Contribute to an overall positive and collaborative environment

    Qualifications and Skills:

    Host experience in a full-service fine dining establishment

    The genuine desire to provide outstanding hospitality to our guests

    Professional, well groomed, friendly, and courteous

    Ability to clearly communicate guests’ needs to servers, managers, and BOH.

    Ability to effectively communicate on the telephone

    Hardworking with a positive and upbeat attitude

    Comfortable working with a team
