Position Summary:
The Host/Hostess is the first point of contact for guests and sets the tone for the dining experience. This position is responsible for greeting and seating guests, managing reservations, and maintaining an organized and welcoming atmosphere at the front desk. The ideal candidate is friendly, professional, and able to handle a fast-paced environment with grace and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Warmly greet guests as they enter the restaurant and thank them upon departure.
Manage reservations and walk-in guests to optimize seating and flow.
Escort guests to their tables, provide menus, and ensure they are comfortable.
Communicate wait times accurately and manage the waiting list when necessary.
Coordinate with servers and management to ensure smooth service.
Answer phones promptly and courteously, providing information about hours, menu, or reservations.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand, entryway, and waiting area.
Assist in monitoring dining room activity to ensure guest satisfaction.
Follow all safety, sanitation, and hospitality standards.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a customer service or restaurant role preferred but not required.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Positive attitude and professional appearance.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Ability to remain calm and polite under pressure.
Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.
Comfortable working in a busy restaurant environment.
Compensation:
Hourly pay based on experience
