We are hiring hosts with 2+ years of upscale dining and/or steakhouse experience. The ideal host will be able to communicate at a high level with multiple guests within a short time frame. The ideal host will be able to navigate building tables into sections to ensure proper guest rotation for servers. Tavern on Rush features 2 floors of upscale steakhouse dining, an energetic bar, an expansive patio, and private dining in addition to providing room service to the Thompson Hotel. Responsibilities: • Maintains strong knowledge of all upcoming reservations on OpenTable, People of Note (PON), and guest requests for each service. • Have full knowledge of each table’s service status and use that information to clearly communicate the status to an upcoming guest reservation. • Responsible for prompt and thorough communication via text, chat, and phone with company-issued devices. • Provide friendly yet discreet and unobtrusive service in the following areas: greeting, wayfinding, check-in, coat and umbrella check. • Greets guests and maintains a welcoming atmosphere at the entrance. • Assist with daily setup and breakdown of the dining area and midday re-sets as needed. • Organizes and maintains secure storage of guest items at the coat closet. • Responds to guest concerns with professionalism and escalates to leadership when appropriate. • Resolve complaints in regard to guest experience in positive and professional manner. • Positive team player with the ability to get larger tasks completed. • Works well in a team atmosphere and independently. • Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested, e.g., special guest requests. Qualifications: • Lift and move up to 10 pounds; frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. • Stand and walk for an entire shift, including moving safely through all areas of the restaurant, which may include stairs, uneven, and/or slick surfaces. • Ability to bear exposure to hot and cold environments. Compensation: $19 - $23 hourly based on experience
