    Position Overview

    The Host is the first and last point of contact for our guests, setting the tone for the entire experience while actively driving the flow of the dining room. This role requires a highly guest-oriented mindset, strong awareness, and the confidence to engage beyond the host stand. The Host is not limited to managing reservations and seating, but plays an active role in welcoming guests into the space, attracting new business, and creating a warm, inviting presence both inside and just outside the restaurant. With a high volume of foot traffic from the surrounding area and nearby ferry arrivals, this position is essential in capturing guest interest, initiating conversations, and turning passersby into guests. The Host operates with energy, professionalism, and intention, ensuring every guest interaction feels genuine and memorable.

    Guest Engagement & First Impressions

    Deliver a warm, confident, and engaging first impression for every guest

    Actively greet and interact with guests both at the host stand and in surrounding areas when appropriate

    Engage with passing foot traffic in a natural, welcoming manner to generate interest and drive walk-in business

    Create a strong sense of arrival and departure, ensuring guests feel acknowledged and appreciated at all times

    Reservation & Seating Management

    Manage reservations, waitlists, and table assignments with accuracy and efficiency

    Strategically pace seating to support smooth service flow and optimize the dining room

    Communicate clearly with Servers and management regarding table status, guest needs, and timing

    Dining Room Awareness

    Maintain a strong understanding of the floor plan, table availability, and service pacing

    Anticipate guest needs, including wait times, special requests, and accommodations

    Support overall dining room flow by coordinating with the team and adjusting as needed

    Communication & Coordination

    Act as a central point of communication between guests and the service team

    Provide accurate information regarding menus, availability, and timing

    Relay important guest details, notes, and preferences to the appropriate team members

    Professional Presence & Organization

    Maintain a clean, organized, and polished host stand and entry area at all times

    Present a professional, approachable demeanor that reflects the standards of the restaurant

    Assist with additional operational duties as needed to support overall service
