Job Summary: The hostess or host greets guests as they enter a restaurant, takes their reservations, or puts them on a waiting list, gives them menus and shows them to their seats. They may also handle phone calls and guest queries about the restaurant and menu and assist various restaurant staff when necessary.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Efficiently manages the operations of the host stand.
Warmly and professionally welcome all guests.
Seats guests at tables while keeping table rotations in mind.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Work with management to control the flow of the restaurant.
Answer phones and take to go orders accurately.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of the menu.
Ability to provide great customer service and work well under pressure.
Willing to follow instructions and ask questions for clarification if needed.
Must be able to work as part of a team.
Education and Experience:
Restaurant experience preferred.
Hold a Food Handler's Card, or the ability to obtain one.
High school or equivalent (Preferred)
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
