Job Summary

We are seeking a Hostess to join the team at our thriving restaurant. In this role, you will welcome guests, lead them to their seats, and set the stage for their evening. Your goal is to quickly build rapport with patrons and make them feel welcome. The ideal candidate is friendly, outgoing, and committed to providing an exceptional dining experience that begins at the front door. Experience working with OpenTable is preferred, but not required. We are looking for someone who is comfortable and good with guests over the phone as well.

We are looking for someone with an engaging and welcoming persona, but who is also able to be assertive and navigate the particularities and requests from our regulars. We are looking for someone with some experience handling sensitive guests.

We are looking for someone with some flexibility, but who could be a fixture on Friday and Saturday nights 5:00-9:00pm. Availability on Wednesdays and Thursdays is a plus, but not required. Pay is $20-25/hour commensurate with experience, plus to-go tips!

Responsibilities

Welcome guests with a smile and inform them of the wait time

Seat guests at their tables, taking into consideration server availability and guest needs

Provide guests with menus and inform them of any special nightly notes

Accept payment for to-go orders

Help with table bussing and resetting at times

Qualifications

Previous experience as a host/hostess, server, or busser is preferred

Friendly and outgoing personality

Excellent communication skills

Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including standing for long periods

Familiarity with food safety guidelines

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
