Hot Dog Pete’s is Atlanta’s Superb Chargrilled Hot Dog Shop. Inspired by co-founder Pete Graphos’ original walk up stand that he started in 1966 in Birmingham, AL, Hot Dog Pete’s is a new take on the old classic. With a mutual love for the joy that a simple meal of a great hot dog, fries and a soda, shake or cold beer can bring, Pihakis Restaurant Group partnered with Pete to create Hot Dog Pete’s. We use great ingredients from respected sources like our custom blended wieners from Fritz’s Smoked Meats –Kansas City’s Oldest Smokehouse—and fresh baked buns from Alon’s Bakery, an Atlanta institution since 1992. We chargrill wieners over live coals and have created multiple hot dog combinations that are both new and inspired but include classics like the beloved Slaw Dog and Chicago Style Dog. Located in the renewed Summerhill Neighborhood in Atlanta—just steps away from Georgia State University’s Stadium, and the 1996 Olympic Torch, Hot Dog Pete’s is fun and energetic, offering colorful and casual dining through friendly service and exceptional food.
Job Summary
The purpose of this job is to set-up, organize, prepare and plate food orders for the guests according to the plating procedures and within ticket time standards; to maintain quality control, kitchen and food storage and Health Department guidelines and restock and clean up.
Responsibilities
Sets up, stocks and organizes all work stations at the beginning of the day.
Prepares menu items, paying attention to plate presentation and garnish of each plate and supervises the cooking of all food itmes to ensure proper delivery of service.
Uses knives, measuring ladles, scoops, scales, can opener, mixer and other tools or utensils.
Cuts and prepares food items. Portions food items and stores them in proper containers.
Prepares grilled, baked and fried items using recipes. Uses pan, stock pots, grill, stove, ovens and fryers.
Cleans and sanitizes line station and equipment during the day and at the end of the day.
Maintains proper food storage temperatures and rotation using FIFO Method.
Handles multiple priorities, and works well under stress
Correctly set up, operates, breaks down and cleans all station equipment.
Follows sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness, and maintenance of Kitchen are.
Comprehends all production sheets and tools as they pertain to the line department and can use them in daily operations as well as training situations.
Complies with all health and safety regulations.
