The Hotel Accounting Manager oversees the daily financial operations of a hotel, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, income auditing, and cash management. They ensure accurate financial reporting, maintain internal controls (GAAP compliance), and produce monthly financial statements. This role typically requires a degree in accounting/finance and proficiency in property management systems (PMS). Responsibilities: • Financial Reporting: Prepare daily operating reports, monthly balance sheets, and profit-and-loss statements. • Cash and Assets Management: Reconcile bank accounts, manage cash receipts, and monitor the daily night audit. • Accounts Payable/Receivable: Oversee vendor payments and manage credit/billing for groups and direct-billed clients. • Internal Controls & Compliance: Implement procedures to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with tax regulations. • Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in creating annual budgets and preparing forecasts. Qualifications: • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related experience. • Experience: Proven experience as an accountant, ideally in the hospitality industry. • Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software/hotel systems (e.g., PMS, POS). • Attributes: Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills. • Marriott experience ideal. Compensation: $50,000 - $55,000 yearly
