Responsibilities: Position Summary The Assistant Front Office Manager supports the daily operation of the Front Office and helps lead the Front Desk team in delivering exceptional service. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can confidently manage the operation, support and motivate the team, and resolve guest issues on the spot. The ideal candidate is an experienced hotel front desk professional who is ready to take the next step in their career and work toward becoming a Front Office Manager in the near future. Essential Responsibilities Support the daily operations of the Front Desk and ensure each shift runs smoothly. Lead by example and consistently deliver warm, professional, and personalized guest service. Resolve guest concerns quickly and confidently, making thoughtful decisions to create positive outcomes. Train, coach, motivate, and recognize Front Desk team members. Assist with onboarding and developing new employees. Ensure the team follows hotel policies, service standards, and operational procedures. Oversee guest arrivals and departures, room assignments, special requests, billing, and payment procedures. Review reservations, room availability, guest balances, and daily operational reports. Work closely with Housekeeping, Engineering, Valet, Sales, and Food and Beverage to provide a seamless guest experience. Assist with scheduling, payroll review, performance documentation, and department communication. Support inventory controls, upselling initiatives, and departmental financial goals. Respond professionally to guest feedback and identify opportunities to improve service. Serve as the Front Office leader on duty when the Front Office Manager or Director of Rooms is unavailable. Be prepared to assist during busy periods, unexpected situations, and operational challenges. Qualifications: Previous hotel front desk experience is mandatory. Previous supervisory, lead, or management experience in a hotel Front Office environment is strongly preferred. Demonstrated experience delivering excellent customer service and resolving guest concerns. Strong ability to train, coach, motivate, and hold a team accountable. Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Ability to remain calm, professional, and solution-focused in a fast-paced environment. Availability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in an independent or boutique hotel. Experience using HMS as a property management system. Experience using SynXis. Knowledge of hotel reservations, billing, room inventory, and Front Office procedures.
