  • Responsibilities

    The Hotel Chief Engineer directs all property operations, maintenance, and engineering departments to ensure guest safety, comfort, and functional, compliant facilities. Key responsibilities include managing HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems, overseeing renovations/capital projects, implementing preventive maintenance, budgeting, and leading the maintenance team. Responsibilities: • Preventive Maintenance & Repairs: Develop and implement comprehensive programs for building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, kitchen equipment, and laundry, to ensure maximum uptime. • Facilities & Safety Management: Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal codes, as well as brand safety standards, and act as the lead on emergency responses. • Team Leadership: Manage, schedule, and train engineering staff; oversee the hiring and performance of technicians. • Budgeting & Cost Control: Manage departmental budgets, control energy consumption, and oversee capital expenditure projects. • Vendor Management: Supervise outside contractors and service providers for specialized maintenance. • Guest Experience: Ensure all guest room repairs are completed promptly and to a high standard. Qualifications: • Experience: Proven experience as a Hotel Maintenance Engineer or Manager, typically 2-5 years. • Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and building automation systems. • Leadership: Ability to lead a team and work collaboratively with other departments. • Certifications: Relevant vocational training or licenses (e.g., HVAC, electrical) are often required. Key Competencies: • Problem-solving and decision-making skills. • Budgeting and financial acumen. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Compensation: $60,000 - $65,000 yearly
