Hotel Front Desk Agent & Night Auditor
Candlewood Suites St. Charles is seeking a dependable, friendly, and flexible Front Desk Agent to join our team. Important: Please apply only if you can work the required combination of morning, evening, and overnight shifts. Required Schedule Availability Applicants must be available to work all three shifts: 7:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. 3:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m. 11:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.The regular schedule will include two overnight shifts from 11:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m. The additional scheduled shifts will include both the 7:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. shift and the 3:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m. shift. Candidates must be able to start immediately and be willing to work mornings, evenings, and 2 overnights. Weekend and holiday availability is also required. Responsibilities: Front Desk Responsibilities Welcome guests and provide friendly, professional service Complete guest check-ins, checkouts, and reservation updates Answer telephone calls and respond to guest questions Process payments, deposits, and credit card authorizations accurately Handle guest concerns professionally and notify management when assistance is needed Maintain accurate front desk records and complete assigned shift reports Communicate effectively with housekeeping and maintenance Follow hotel safety, security, privacy, and cash-handling procedures Monitor the property and respond appropriately to guest needs Keep the front desk, lobby, guest laundry room, and other public areas clean and organized Check and empty trash in assigned public areas Assist the housekeeping department with washing, drying, folding, and organizing hotel laundry as needed Complete additional duties assigned by management Night Audit Responsibilities Complete the hotel’s nightly audit procedures accurately and on time Review guest accounts, room charges, payments, and transaction postings Correct or report discrepancies according to hotel procedures Balance cash, credit card, and other payment transactions Process no-shows and verify reservation information Run the end-of-day process in the hotel’s property-management system Prepare, organize, and distribute required daily reports Set up the front desk and prepare necessary information for the morning shift Monitor hotel activity and help maintain a safe, secure environment overnight Respond to guest requests and concerns while working independently Communicate any incidents, account issues, or unfinished tasks to management and the next shift Qualifications: • Comfortable taking telephone calls and mitigating stressful situations • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and reservation management systems • Displays impeccable interpersonal, time management, organizational skills, and customer service skills • Must have graduated high school, received a GED or equivalent • 1+ year of hotel industry experience or related job preferred Previous hotel, front desk, night audit, or customer-service experience is preferred Open availability for all three shifts is required Must be dependable, punctual, and flexible Strong communication and guest-service skills Basic computer, data-entry, and math skills Ability to follow detailed night audit procedures Ability to work independently during overnight shifts Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations Willingness to assist with laundry and public-area cleaning Ability to stand for extended periods and lift, push, or carry items required for regular hotel duties Compensation: $17.25 per hour
