Hotel Front Desk Representative
We are seeking a friendly, dependable, and professional Front Desk Agent to join our team and provide an outstanding experience for every guest. In this role, you will greet guests upon arrival, manage reservations and guest information, issue room assignments and keys, and assist with general questions to ensure a smooth and enjoyable stay. The ideal candidate has excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to exceptional customer service. Applicants must be flexible, have reliable personal transportation, and be available to work without schedule restrictions, as shifts may vary based on hotel needs. A positive attitude and the ability to remain professional in a fast-paced environment are essential. Responsibilities: • Manage room bookings in-person, online, and through incoming calls, and answer inquiries about guests’ needs, including questions about available rooms, amenities, room rates, special requests, and rewards programs • Perform regular bookkeeping duties: make sure hotel guest information is current and correct • Work with the housekeeping staff to ensure rooms are ready for new guests • Greet, check-in, and check out guests when they arrive and leave the premises, distribute keys and room assignments, and record credit card information • Handle customer complaints as necessary • Greet and assist guests in a warm, professional manner following IHG service standards • Complete guest check-ins and check-outs accurately and efficiently • Handle reservations, room assignments, and payment processing • Respond to guest inquiries, concerns, and requests promptly and professionally • Maintain accurate guest records and ensure data integrity within the PMS • Follow all hotel policies, procedures, and brand standards • Communicate effectively with housekeeping, maintenance, and management • Ensure compliance with safety, security, and credit card handling procedures • Assist with Laundry Qualifications: • At least one year of hospitality industry experience as a hotel front desk agent or similar position preferred • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent • Has experience answering telephone calls and troubleshooting stressful situations • Displays impeccable interpersonal, time management, organizational skills, and customer service skills • Exhibits working knowledge of Microsoft Office and reservation management systems Qualifications & Requirements: • Minimum of 1 year hotel front desk experience required • Hands-on experience using Opera and/or Hotel Key PMS systems required • Previous experience working at an IHG-branded property or familiarity with IHG brand standards and service culture • Strong understanding of and ability to deliver IHG’s “True Hospitality” service standards • Excellent guest service skills with a professional, friendly, and welcoming demeanor • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and remain organized in a fast-paced environment • Comfortable handling cash, credit card transactions, and balancing shift reports • Strong attention to detail and accuracy • Ability to professionally handle guest concerns and resolve issues in alignment with IHG guest recovery standards • Reliable, punctual, and dependable attendance • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team • Flexible availability , including mornings, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays • Basic computer proficiency (email, Microsoft Office, and web-based systems) • Knowledge of hotel safety, security, and guest confidentiality standards • Ability to stand for extended periods Compensation: $16.50 hourly to start
