  • Responsibilities

    We're looking for a courteous, detail-oriented maintenance engineer at our Marriott property at the Georgia National Fairgrounds to provide our guests with a five-star experience. You'll be in charge of overseeing the property’s overall upkeep, supervising the maintenance team, and carrying out routine processes to make it fully functioning, pleasurable, and safe. This is a new-build property featuring both the Fairfield by Marriott and Towneplace Suites by Marriott brands, along with a restaurant, bar, and entertainment facilities. We are looking to have the Maintenance Chief on-site now, before the property opens. Company Benefits Include: • Health, dental, and vision insurance • 401(k) with company match • Paid time off Responsibilities: • Operate various tools like wrenches, hammers, screwdrivers, drills, and other maintenance equipment • Keep an open line of communication with other team members and staff • Collaborate with other personnel who will help you with maintenance tasks • React to emergencies that happen before, during, and after your regular work shifts • Follow all engineering safety rules and regulations • Maintain all hotel equipment, maintenance plans, and safety policies according to company and brand standards • Complete daily logs of operations, report maintenance problems, safety hazards, and accidents • Understand a variety of repairs and maintenance systems (HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, refrigeration, fire code, pool, etc.) and continue to learn daily, as well as be willing to receive all appropriate certifications and trainings as requested • Work diligently on assigned tasks and take initiative to solve problems and create more efficient processes • Direct, supervise, and support the maintenance team • Create a welcoming environment for guests and solve guest concerns promptly • Be prepared to support the property after hours in the event of an emergency or temporary staff shortage • Work with a variety of tools, hammers and screwdrivers, indicators and edge finders, drills, wrenches, and other maintenance tools of the trade • Perform other duties as requested by the General Manager Qualifications: • Must have a high school diploma or the equivalent GED • Ability to use web-based software, including facilities maintenance software preferred • 2-4 years of maintenance experience is required for this role • Driver’s license and outstanding driving record is necessary • Stellar communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills are needed • Must have 5 years experience in maintenance • Previous Hotel experience preferred Compensation: $22 - $28 hourly
