    SUMMARY

    At Margaritaville Hotel Nashville, our Maintenance Engineers keep the paradise state of mind alive by ensuring our guest rooms, public spaces, roof deck pool, and food & beverage outlets remain in top-tier condition. The Rooms/Maintenance Engineer performs general maintenance, preventive care, and quick-response repairs to equipment, fixtures, and hotel structures. Duties involve light electrical, plumbing, HVAC maintenance, carpentry, drywall, paint, vinyl repairs, and maintaining the relaxed, high-quality, island-inspired environment our guests expect in downtown Music City.

    QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

    • Communication: Read, write, speak, and understand English fluently with strong interpersonal skills to interact warmly with guests, team members, and management.
    • Experience: 2–5 years of maintenance experience preferred in a full-service hospitality, commercial, or institutional environment.
    • Technical Skills: Basic to intermediate skills in HVAC, plumbing, and electrical troubleshooting.
    • Finishing Skills: Experience with light carpentry, painting, vinyl/wall-covering repair, and dry-wall patching.
    • Certifications: CPO (Certified Pool Operator) certification strongly preferred (or willingness to obtain upon hire to service our outdoor pool deck).
    • Flexibility & Mobility: Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends, evenings, and holidays, as dictated by hotel occupancy and event schedules.
    • Licensing: Valid driver’s license preferred.

    • Preventive Maintenance (PM): Rigorously execute guest room PM schedules, keep supply carts stocked and organized, and ensure long-term preservation of property assets.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Guest Room Maintenance: Perform daily work orders and preventive maintenance (PM) in guest rooms and suites, including troubleshooting TV/Wi-Fi/HVAC units, fixing plumbing fixtures, changing light bulbs, and repairing furniture or hardware.
    • Public Space & Venue Care: Maintain and repair finishes, lighting, wall coverings, flooring, and fixtures throughout public areas, lobby, meeting spaces, and outdoor recreation areas (including the Fins Rooftop Pool & Bar area).
    • Food & Beverage Operations Support: Assist with routine maintenance and repairs for kitchen, bar, and laundry equipment; perform enzyme treatment and cleanings for F&B floor drains weekly.
    • Life Safety & Systems Monitoring: Monitor fire alarms, life safety systems, energy management systems, and building automation, responding promptly to system alerts.
    • Pool & Water Features: Conduct routine water chemical testing, skimming, and basic equipment maintenance for pool systems in compliance with health department codes (CPO required/preferred).
    • Work Order Management: Utilize the hotel’s work-order platform to track, update, and complete work requests in a timely, efficient manner.
    • Inventory & Tools: Maintain clean, secure, and well-organized shop environments, tool kits, and mobile supply carts. Report low inventory or component needs to engineering leadership promptly.
    • General Facilities Support: Assist with minor lock/key issues, signage installation, water heater changeouts, electrical cart maintenance, and general building repairs as assigned by leadership.
    • Attend all mandatory property and department meetings and safety trainings.
