We here at Hotel Solamar are looking for a quality and dedicated Staff Accountant to join our team!

QUALIFICATIONS:

• BA or BS degree in accounting or finance.
• Previous hospitality experience preferred.
• Experience with accounting software
• Strong computer skills, MS Excel in particular (managing spreadsheets, creating charts and using advanced formulas
• Solid knowledge of payroll, bookkeeping and accounting principles, laws and regulations
• Excellent analytical skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Required statistics math level.
• Ability to communicate effectively with the public and other employees.
• Read, write and speak English fluently.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• This position will require you to manage financial processes to meet or exceed budgeted profit and margin of the department.
• Help prepare annual hotel budget that accurately reflects the hotel’s operations plan.
• Anticipates revenue/cost problems.
• Analyze financial and operating information on an ongoing basis.
• Ensure department staff is trained in financial/control procedures as outlined by Internal Audit, and that these procedures are regularly followed.
• Impacts cash flow by effective management of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable at the hotel level.
• Manages all financial processes to ensure hotel profitability and compliance with accepted practices.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Assures property operations meet internal audit standards.
• Key and transmit payroll via PC on a bi-weekly basis
• Support all departments with payroll related inquiries
• Performs work of General Cashier – addresses any overages and completes Blackline reconciliations.
• Makes daily hours corrections
• Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Demonstrate positive leadership characteristics, which inspire employees to meet and exceed standards.
• Direct the development and implementation of internal control to ensure the security of Davidson assets and the accurate recording of assets, liabilities, income, expenses, and other transactions.
• Completes all Task Force billing and maintains Task Force blackline accounts.
• Assist in directing the preparation of the annual budget and subsequent forecasts.
• Process final paychecks accurately
• Generate all required labor statistical reports
• Sends reports/tools to team members
• Completes blackline reconciliations related to payroll.
• Perform in the capacity of any position supervised.
• Group billing
• AP
• Assist external and internal auditors.
