Description: This position provides custodial and personal care services to clients that contract with Assisting Hands for services under the direction of the Staffing Coordinator in compliance with the Plan of Care.
Education: High School Diploma/GED required
Qualifications: One (1) year experience in the home or long-term care setting is preferred.
Reports to: Staffing Coordinator
Primary Duties:
Assisting clients with bathing and showering to promote hygiene and dignity.
Providing companionship and emotional support to enhance quality of life.
Assisting clients with dressing, grooming, and other aspects of personal hygiene.
Performing grocery shopping duties based on client preferences and dietary needs.
Preparing meals in accordance with any prescribed dietary guidelines.
Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized home environment through light housekeeping tasks such as laundry, dishwashing, and tidying up living areas.
Promoting a safe living environment by identifying and addressing potential hazards in the home.
Scheduling appointments with physicians, laboratories, and other healthcare providers, and ensuring timely follow-up.
Monitoring and reporting any changes in client’s physical or emotional condition to the Staffing Coordinator.
Qualifications:
At least one (1) year of proven work experience as a Caregiver or in a related role is required.
Must be physically capable of safely assisting with client mobility and handling client weight.
Excellent communication skills required.
Experience in a home or long-term care setting is preferred.
Infection Control & Compliance:
Adheres to agency’s infection control policies, including proper handwashing per CDC guidelines.
Follows all policies and procedures outlined in the agency’s Policy and Procedure Manual, Caregiver Handbook, and Caregiver Training Manual.
Working Schedule: Monday, Wednesday and Friday (1:00 PM - 5:00 PM)
