Now Hiring: In-House Sound Engineer

We’re looking for a technically skilled, musically minded Sound Engineer to join our team and help deliver exceptional audio experiences at our high-volume, event-focused venue. From live bands and DJs to private events and large-scale festivals, you’ll be the person making sure everything sounds as great as it should.

Location: Number Thirty Eight - Denver, CO Position Type: Part-Time / Full-Time (depending on availability) Reports to: General Manager, National Music Director

Responsibilities:

Operate and maintain in-house PA systems for live events, DJs, and special programming.

Set up, soundcheck, and run FOH and monitor mixes for performers and presenters.

Coordinate with performers, production teams, and management to ensure smooth show execution.

Manage load-in and load-out of audio equipment and backline as needed.

Troubleshoot audio issues quickly and effectively under pressure.

Maintain gear and ensure equipment is in good working order.

Support AV needs for private events, brand activations, and rentals.

Occasionally support lighting or video systems, depending on experience.

Qualifications:

Experience running live sound in a venue, bar, or event setting.

Proficiency with digital mixing consoles (e.g., Behringer X32, Midas, etc.).

Strong understanding of signal flow, EQ, compression, monitors, and mics.

Comfortable working solo and taking ownership of the audio experience.

Able to lift 50 lbs and handle the physical nature of show days.

Professional, calm under pressure, and guest-service oriented.
