    The Development Director position has a variety of responsibilities and assists in coordinating the efforts to increase the organization’s funding base.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    · Research, identify, analyze, and recommend applicable grant funding opportunities from government agencies (local, state and federal), corporations, and private and public foundations.

    · Generate revenue for organization programs and services through timely submission of well researched, well-written and well-documented grant proposals.

    · Manage and implement grant database, funder research files, grant application deadlines and reporting schedules for tracking grant information.

    · Responsible for preparation and timely submission of all grant reports, including mid-term, progress reports and final reports to funders.

    EDUCATION:

    · Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or nonprofit management

    EXPERIENCE:

    · Three (3) years ’experience and advanced technical skills in preparing grant proposals with documented track record of success in generating revenue. Experience working in a behavioral health organization is preferred.

    · One (1) year experience in Fundraising

    · One (1) year experience in Grant writing

    · One (1) year experience in Marketing

    SKILLS:

    · Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office including Publisher.

    · Adobe In Design knowledge preferred.

    · Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    · Outstanding critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills

    · Ability to work independently.

    · High level of initiative

    · Ability to prioritize, multi-task and work under pressure when multiple grants are due in the same time frame.

    · Ability to take initiative, work independently, and use innovative techniques and ingenuity to prepare grant applications.

    · Must be able to analyze and evaluate information. Must have strong organizational skills.

    · Must be flexible in working hours during special events.
