Housekeeping Job Description
Summary: Maintain cleanliness in guest rooms, public areas, and hotel exteriors while providing excellent customer service. Duties include making beds, replenishing linens, cleaning rooms and common areas, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, and emptying trash. Must be able to bend, reach, lift up to 50 lbs, and work on your feet for extended periods. Split shifts may be required. A professional appearance is expected at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
Clean and service guest rooms, hallways, lobbies, stairways, restrooms, gym, pool, kitchen, and other areas.
Make beds, flip mattresses, change linens, and replenish supplies.
Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and sanitize surfaces.
Empty trash and transport waste to disposal areas.
Perform deep cleaning tasks (move furniture, wash windows, clean drapes, remove stains, etc.).
Stock carts, storage, and laundry rooms with linens, amenities, and cleaning supplies.
Handle laundry (wash, dry, fold, and organize).
Report maintenance issues or needed repairs to management.
Follow hotel safety, sanitation, and food-handling guidelines.
Assist guests with requests and provide excellent customer service.
Report lost & found items, damages, or security concerns immediately.
Work cooperatively with front desk, maintenance, and other staff.
Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Work Conditions:
Indoor/outdoor work in variable temperatures, noise levels, and around cleaning chemicals.
Requires lifting, bending, reaching, and standing for up to 10 hours.
