JOB SUMMARY
The Housekeeper/Room Attendant is the heart of the hotel’s operation, directly influencing the guest experience by ensuring that all guest rooms and public areas meet the high standards of cleanliness and reliability expected by Fairfield Inn & Suites and Marriott International. This role requires attention to detail, efficiency, and a commitment to providing a warm, welcoming, and hygienic environment for every guest.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Guest Room Cleaning & Sanitation:
Clean an assigned board of rooms daily within allowed time constraints, adhering strictly to brand cleaning protocols and "Commitment to Clean" standards.
Strip dirty linens and make beds perfectly with fresh linens, ensuring a crisp and inviting appearance.
Thoroughly clean and sanitize bathrooms, including scrubbing tubs/showers, toilets, sinks, vanities, and polishing mirrors.
Dust all furniture, fixtures, frames, vents, and window treatments.
Vacuum carpets and mop hard floor surfaces.
Empty trash containers and replace liners.
Replenish guest room amenities (towels, toiletries, coffee/tea supplies, cups) to the correct par levels and arrangement.
Operational Efficiency & Support:
Keep the housekeeping cart neatly organized, stocked, and secure throughout the shift.
Visually inspect rooms for maintenance issues (e.g., burnt-out lightbulbs, leaky faucets, damaged furniture) and promptly report them to the Engineering department.
Immediately turn in all items left behind by guests according to the hotel’s Lost & Found procedures.
Maintain the cleanliness and organization of linen closets and supply storage areas.
Assist with deep cleaning projects or cleaning public areas (lobby, fitness center, hallways) as assigned by management.
Safety & Compliance:
Strictly adhere to all safety procedures, including the proper handling and storage of cleaning chemicals (SDS guidelines) and utilizing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
Follow key control procedures to ensure the security of guest rooms and hotel property.
Maintain guest confidentiality and privacy at all times.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Experience: Previous housekeeping experience in a hotel or similar environment is preferred, but not required. We are willing to train the right attitude.
Skills:
Strong attention to detail and a passion for cleanliness.
Ability to work independently and efficiently to meet time deadlines.
Reliability, honesty, and a strong work ethic.
Basic communication skills to interact with guests and staff.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Continuous standing and walking throughout an 8-hour shift.
Frequent lifting, pushing, and pulling amounts up to 50 pounds (including pushing a fully loaded housekeeping cart).
Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching overhead.
Ability to work with cleaning chemicals and various odors.

Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime based on business needs.
