Overview:
The Housekeeping Supervisor will assist the Executive Housekeeper in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the housekeeping department, ensuring all guest rooms and other public areas of the Atwell Suites KCI have been satisfactorily cleaned and are “Guest Ready” every day!
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Inspect rooms after they have been cleaned to ensure all IHG standards have been met; ensure that mistakes or inadequate cleanings are corrected.
Inspect all vacant ready rooms at the beginning of each day and ensure conditions are suitable for guests.
Inspect and maintain the cleanliness of other public areas within the Hotel, and oversee the completion of the ‘Houseman’ checklist.
Help maintain weekly and monthly product inventory of all cleaning materials and supplies used by janitorial staff.
Update internal software with the ‘ready’ status of rooms to assist front desk operations.
Keep all storage areas and linen rooms clean, organized, and stocked with needed items.
List, itemize, and enter Lost & Found items into internal software as needed; return items to the correct guests in accordance with Holiday Inn policy.
Communicate with the Maintenance Engineers and Executive Housekeeper regarding equipment malfunctions or breakdowns.
Discard any linens, cleaning products, materials, or other supplies appropriately and correctly, as needed.
Ensure that all products and supplies are used in the correct manner and for the correct purposes; follow any handling or care directions as specified on products and supplies.
Respond to any guest queries and requests.
Respond to calls for housekeeping problems promptly and courteously.
Ensure confidentiality and security of guest rooms.
Follow all company safety and security procedures.
Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or damage to hotel property.
Other Duties and Expectations:
Work with all departments using crystal clear communication.
Lead by example; encourage co-workers to always perform at the highest levels.
Ask for feedback from direct supervisor and provide feedback as needed; be open and willing to take directions and/or make changes to job performance as needed.
Engage and assist guests at all opportunities to help build a level of comfort between the guest and our property, instilling a “Home Away From Home” comfort during their stay.
Act as a team player; help other employees when called upon and take initiative when needed.
Understand and respond to customer’s needs and ensure a high level of guest satisfaction.
Assist with laundry as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements:
1 year experience in a Housekeeping Supervisory role or other supervisory role preferred
Hotel experience required
Cleaning/housekeeping experience required
