    Reports To: Housekeeping Manager, Assistant General Manager, General Manager

    Position Summary

    The Houseman plays a critical support role within the Housekeeping Department and contributes to the overall cleanliness, organization, and guest experience throughout the hotel. This position is responsible for maintaining all public areas, assisting with room support tasks, and providing timely assistance to various departments as needed. The Houseman ensures a high standard of cleanliness and hospitality, while promoting teamwork and excellent customer service across the property. The ideal candidate will be physically capable, detail-oriented, and an effective communicator. Availability on weekends and holidays is required.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Arrive to work on time in the assigned, clean uniform.

    • Maintain key control standards and exercise appropriate care when handling hotel keys.

    • Support daily operations by cleaning public spaces including hallways, stairwells, vending areas, elevators, meeting rooms, and all guest-facing and back-of-house areas.

    • Remove trash from all receptacles throughout the property, ensuring cleanliness and sanitation in all public areas.
      Assist with daily exterior maintenance, including sweeping, vacuuming stairwells, and collecting debris in parking lots and guest entrance areas.

    • Provide logistical support to housekeeping staff by assisting with linen and terry distribution, room supply delivery, and fulfilling special cleaning requests.

    • Aid laundry operations by assisting with loading and unloading delivery or supply vehicles.

    • Communicate effectively with the Front Desk to coordinate guest service requests, room deliveries, and additional needs.

    • Promptly report any lost and found items to the appropriate supervisor or Housekeeping Manager on duty.

    • Ensure storage rooms, chemical supply rooms, and workstations are kept clean, organized, and stocked.

    • Support departmental inventory processes by assisting with monthly and quarterly counts of supplies and linens.

    • Uphold property cleanliness standards and ensure a high level of presentation and service is maintained at all times.
    • Appropriately resolve guest concerns or escalate them to the department supervisor when necessary.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Housekeeping Manager, Assistant General Manager or General Manager.

    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout shifts.
    • Regularly lift and carry items up to 35 lbs.
    • Frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, twisting, pushing, pulling, and stooping.
