Houseman’s primarily responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and general upkeep of the hotel.
The duties and responsibilities of a Houseman include:
Clean and maintain public areas of the establishment like lobbies, hallways, and restrooms
Assist room attendants by removing trash and dirty linens from guest rooms
Restock supplies such as toiletries, linen and other amenities in rooms and common areas
Respond to guest requests and complaints promptly and professionally
Assist Front Desk with Guests
Perform deep-cleaning tasks, like carpet shampooing or washing windows, as needed
Move and arrange furniture, and turn mattresses periodically
Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the Housekeeping Supervisor or Chief Engineer
May assist with laundry duties like washing, drying, and folding linens
Also, any other duties that may arise
Must be available weekends
Responsibilities
Carry out heavy cleaning tasks and special projects
Assist with moving furniture and heavy equipment
Maintain cleanliness of public areas, storage areas, and parking lot
Support housekeeping staff and front desk with tasks as needed
Perform routine minor maintenance tasks and repairs
Comply with health and safety regulations
Provide assistance to guests and respond to their requests
Qualifications
Previous experience in a cleaning or general labor role preferred
Physical stamina and mobility, including the ability to lift up to 25 lbs
Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks
Good communication and customer service skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
High school diploma or equivalent
