Key duties and responsibilities of a hotel houseman:
Cleaning:
Cleaning and maintaining guest rooms, public areas (lobbies, hallways, restrooms, etc.), and back-of-house areas like the laundry room and employee break areas. Vacuuming, mopping, dusting, and polishing surfaces in these areas. Cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms and replenishing toiletries. Emptying trash and recycling bins. Assisting with deep cleaning tasks as needed.
Restocking:
Replenishing guest room supplies like towels, toiletries, and linens. Restocking common area supplies and maintaining inventory levels.
Assisting with Housekeeping:
Assisting room attendants with tasks like moving furniture, removing dirty linens, and delivering supplies. Changing bed linens and making beds. Assisting with laundry duties (collecting, sorting, and delivering).
