Today, Housing Families is one of the largest and most capable providers of shelter and affordable rental housing in Massachusetts.

    PUPROSE/RESPONSIBILITIES: 

    REPORTING TO THE FINANCIAL CONSULTANT AND THE CEO    

    The purpose of this position is to process accounts payable, complete reconciliations, and other accounting operations tasks and to provide administrative support for the Executive Team

    • Process accounts payable, including coding and inputting invoices, issuing checks and preparing checks for signature and mailing; ensuring compliance with policies
    • Prepare billing, including support documents, and entry into financial software.
    • Processing bi-weekly payroll
    • Scanning cash deposits and entering into financial software.
    • Assist with internal and external audits to ensure compliance
    • Coordinate monthly credit card process from data gathering through system processing
    • Assist with obtaining of W-9s and processing/filing the year end 1099s
    • Provide other assistance as needed by Finance Department
    • Coverage for front office receptionist, including answering phone, receiving and directing visitors and distribute mail

    QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS: 

    • High school diploma and three years administrative experience, or equivalent
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Experience with accounting / financial transaction processing
    • Computer Skills: proficient with Microsoft Office, including Power Point, Excel and Word. Accounting software experience (e.g., QuickBooks, Intacct, Sage, etc.) experience strongly preferred
    • Positive professional demeanor and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
    • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

     

    APPLICATIONS/COMPENSATION:

    Compensation for this position will be dependent on experience. This is a full time/non-exempt position at 40 hours per week.
