    Position Overview

    Full-time Position Monday to Friday 8 am to 5 pm Saturday 8 am to 1 pm

    Drive Nation is looking for an Automotive Technician / Auto Mechanic to join our team, and we’re interested in talking to candidates at various experience levels. As an Automotive Technician, you’ll perform vehicle repairs as assigned in accordance with company and factory standards. Your attention to detail makes you a particularly valuable asset to the team as you ensure repairs are completed on-time and are done right the first time.

    In this role, you’ll interact daily with Customers, Service Advisors, other Technicians, Parts Associates, Sales Associates, and Managers.

    Daily Responsibilities:

    • Performing vehicle repair and/or maintenance work as outlined on repair orders with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with company and factory standards to delight customers and drive loyalty.
    • Communicating with Parts and Service Advisors regularly to effectively build and manage repair estimates, as well as customer communication.
    • Diagnosing the cause of any malfunction and perform repair, if authorized by the customer.
    • Conducting multi-point inspections to make appropriate recommendations to ensure safety and reliability of both customer and Drive Nation inventory vehicles.
    • Documenting work performed on each vehicle on the repair order.
    • Providing an exceptional customer experience to drive loyalty.

    Minimum Job Requirements

    • Automotive technical training and experience (varies based on specific needs)
    • Must be able to diagnose and repair vehicle systems including engines, transmissions, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, and air conditioning
    • Must also have some basic computer skills such as typing and data entry. (Prior knowledge of Alldata or Mitchell1 is preferred)
    • Ability to explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to service advisors and customers
    • Must be a team player, looking out for the good of the company, customers and coworkers
    • General Mechanical skills, manual dexterity and able to operate power and hand tools, and other types of machinery
    • Attention to detail
    • Ability to multi-task
    • Organization and follow-up skills
    • Knowledge of the automotive repair life cycle
    • Ability to operate an automobile, including manual transmission vehicles
    • Must have own tools & toolbox. The shop does have scan tools and shop equipment
    • Valid in-state driver’s license and reliable transportation
