Business Process Improvement Analyst 1 Human Arc (A Centauri Health
Solutions Company) - Cleveland, OH Objective: The Quality Team operates
as a corporate resource for identifying and implementing process
improvement opportunities to improve the services delivered to our
customers. The team utilizes a well-structured set of tools and
methodologies. These tools are based upon Lean Six Sigma and project
management methodologies. The Business Process Improvement (BPI) Analyst
is responsible for managing change and improvement initiatives across
units, programs and organization-wide. The role is responsible for
evaluating and performing comprehensive analyses on business processes,
systems and procedures to validate operational efficiency and
effectiveness. The specialist will be required to champion and deploy
business and process improvement methodologies and tool sets across the
organization, build internal capability through knowledge sharing and
coaching. This role will lead improvement projects through definition,
measurement, analysis, improvement and control phases, interacting with
leaders, managers and staff to achieve processes improvements. They will
interact with mid to upper-level organizational leadership, IT staff and
Operational contacts of the organization (depending upon the project) to
influence strategy, tactics and outcomes. Because of their work, they
will also be responsible for the business requirements necessary to
build new functionality into our information systems. KEY TASKS: DRIVES
BUSINESS PROCESS IMPROVEMENT INITIATIVES: Runs individual process
improvement projects under direct supervision and mentoring from others.
- Leadership: o Lead process improvement initiatives within business
units and in conjunction with appropriate parties (suppliers,
operations, customers) to deliver efficiencies and benefits to internal
and external constituents. o Oversee projects from initial research and
assessment through transition to the management team for business
performance improvement. o Support other Process Improvement Analysts as
needed. o Establishes appropriate controls after a project is complete
to ensure improvements are realized and maintained going forward. *
Define, Measure and Analyze Processes / Businesses: o Identify, scope
and prepare business cases for opportunities to improve processes in
conjunction with process owners/managers o Develop metrics, capture
relevant data and perform appropriate analysis to support the
evaluation, decision and delivery of projects. o Champion the initiative
by utilizing a structured approach to business process improvement. o
Utilize mistake proofing, innovative thinking, and waste elimination
techniques to permanently reduce waste. Target opportunities based upon
Lean Six Sigma philosophies. o Identify project benefits and ensure they
are realized on each project * Communicate: o Develops and executes a
communication strategy appropriate for each project o Present findings
and recommendations with confidence communicating these to sponsors and
key stakeholders. o Challenge stakeholders to maximize opportunities for
process improvement initiatives. o Promote a continuous improvement
culture across the business. * Document: o Document and monitor business
processes, business rules, roles & responsibilities, metrics and
standard operating procedures related to improvement initiatives or
other assignments. MANAGES PROJECTS OF VARYING SIZE: * Define, scope,
plan and manage project delivery to an agreed project plan. * Ensure
risks and concerns are identified and communicated timely. * Manage
project team members throughout project and as changes occur. * Manage
team dynamics to optimize results, engage participants, develop team
members and foster collaboration. * Work collaboratively with
appropriate parties to resolve issues and avoid risks to the project *
Own responsibility for the project budget * Communicate project
statuses, risks, activities and estimates to the project team and key
stakeholders. * Provide effective project handoffs to the organization
to ensure success. SUPPORTS BUSINESS REQUIREMENT NEEDS * Provides
analysis and design specifications for process, system, technology and
operational changes * Reviews, analyzes and evaluates business systems
and user needs. * Applies strong business, technical and consulting
practices knowledge to collect and analyze data, to assist in business
process assessments, to document requirements definition, to perform gap
analyses, and to assist in software evaluation and implementation. *
Works closely with business unit and IT to accurately and efficiently
document requirements suitable for ease of development. * Works closely
with the design, development and QA teams to ensure that products are
built to specification and delivered on time. * May assist in
development and execution of project timelines, schedules, test cases
and defect prioritization/resolution. FORMULATES OR DIRECTS THE
DEVELOPMENT OF TEST PLANS: * Assists with testing the implemented system
with client users and IT staff. May take the lead on testing items under
their responsibility. * May assist in the creation of user guides,
reference materials, and training materials. * Communicates effectively
with internal and external clients regarding the development status of
cases under their purview. TRAINING SUPPORT RELATED TO AREAS OF
EXPERTISE: * Coach and support project team members on the use of
process improvement and project management tools and methodology. Other
duties as assigned Security Roles and Responsibilities Human Arcs

employees must only access data they are authorized to access. Depending
on role designation, employees may be required to take additional role
based information security training. In addition, employees must
successfully complete annual security and compliance refresher training.
Employees will be held accountable for violations to the security
policies. Education: Bachelors college degree in operations management,
business management, or related field preferred Job-Related Experience
and Training: * Experienced with project management principles (PMP not
required) * Experience in the following areas: Business Process
Modeling, Analysis and Design, Project/ Program Management * Target
Experience: * 2 5 years experience using business process improvement
methodologies (i.e. Six Sigma Methodology, Lean Thinking, Process
Mapping, etc.). * 2 5 years experience in project management using PMP
or Prince2 principles. * Project scope: Process * Formal accreditations:
- Six Sigma Yellow Belt or similar experience preferred * Preferred
Software: * Project Management: Microsoft Project or similar *
Statistics: SPSS, SQL, Minitab, SAS, R+ * Flow charting: Visio *
Database: SQL, Access Travel/Time away from home: Up to 20% Knowledge:
Good knowledge of Industry quality controls tools * Acceptance Sampling,
Control Charts and Process Capability (Cp, Cpk) Strong knowledge of
Process improvement methodologies * DMIAC, Six Sigma, Lean Principles,
benchmarking, check sheets, business process modeling, analysis and
design, process flow diagrams Strong knowledge of Statistical Process
Evaluation * Pareto Diagrams, cause-and-effect, histograms, tests for
normality, the 5 whys Good knowledge of Applied business statistics *
Fundamentals of probability, distributions, estimation, confidence
intervals and hypothesis testing, sample size estimation Good knowledge
of Appropriate quality tools for the job * Root cause analysis, fishbone
diagrams, etc. Good knowledge of Project planning methods Good knowledge
of Project management principles Qualifications Education Required
Bachelors or better. Experience Preferred 2-5 years: Business process
improvement methodologies (i.e. Six Sigma Methodology, Lean Thinking,
Process Mapping, etc.). Licenses & Certifications Preferred Six Sigma
