    The Senior Decision Support Specialist will be a member of the Financial Planning and Budget team.

    The specialist is responsible for performing critical application and analysis functions in support of Client's Health’s Financial Decision Support system, EPSi. As such, the Sr. Decision Support Specialist will play a integral part in developing an annual budget and corresponding performance to budget by owning the EPSi budget manager module.

    EPSi is the main source for labor productivity reporting information. Therefore, solid knowledge of data flows and high level understanding of functional labor are necessary to effectively coordinate needed changes.

    The Sr. Decision Support Specialist will also provide the support to the Team’s constituents with respect to the budget and labor productivity. As such, the role has a trusted relationship with operational stakeholders to provide training, guidance, and understand the technical needs of his or her constituents.

    The role Supports the Director of Financial Planning and Budget – Shared Service in the overall strategy to achieve best practices in the management of EPSi, and its associated reporting tools. To accomplish this the senior analyst must develop and maintain key relationships with other Finance, Operations, and IT stakeholders.

     

    The teammate must have a general understanding of the budgeting process in a Health system setting in order to identify necessary business processes that need to implemented and technical changes within EPSi to provide to create meaningful budgets and reporting for operational visibility and insight.

     

    Minimum requirements:

    • Five years experience in Budget and Financial Management in the Healthcare field, preferably in a Hospital setting
    • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, directly related field; or combination of education and experience
    • Experience with hospital budgeting and financial management concepts and systems
    • In-depth knowledge in managing EPSI decision support system including Budget Manager, Data Dictionary, Data Studio, Custom SQL development
    • Knowledge of and experience working with Healthcare specific EMR, Decision Support, and Financial accounting software. (e.g. Epic, EPSi, PeopleSoft or similar)
    • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead projects and teams and collaborate productively on highly-complex projects with key personnel at all professional and technical levels
    • Advanced written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to interpret and convey highly sophisticated technical and financial information in a clear, concise manner, and to make cogent presentations of analyses, reports, and investigation results
    • Advanced problem-solving skills analytical ability, and in-depth knowledge of documentation and reporting, with the ability to run highly complex queries and studies, to collect and analyze financial and performance data, and to produce relevant, meaningful reports, analyses, and forecasts
    • Flexible, have a positive attitude and a sense of humor is highly desirable
    • Professional approach to work including a strong sense of responsibility for assigned duties; demonstrated ability to handle and prioritize multiple assignments and overlapping deadlines
