    Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP)

    Position Overview

    Vector is seeking an experienced Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to serve as a strategic and operational partner to leaders across Vector Force Development, Vector Services, and Vector Talent Solutions.

    Reporting to the Senior Manager, Human Resources, the HRBP will provide trusted HR partnership across employee relations, performance management, workforce planning, talent management, organizational effectiveness, and the broader employee experience.

    This role is ideal for an HR professional who enjoys being close to the business, building strong relationships with leaders, solving complex people challenges, and helping shape scalable HR practices in a growing organization.

    The HRBP will work closely with HR leadership, the HR Coordinator, HR Specialist, Recruiting, Payroll, Operations, Risk, Safety, and other cross-functional partners to ensure people strategies are practical, consistent, compliant, and aligned with business objectives.

    What You’ll Do

    Business Partnership & Leader Support

    • Serve as the primary HR partner to assigned business leaders, developing a strong understanding of their operations, workforce needs, and organizational priorities.

    • Provide practical HR guidance that balances employee considerations, business objectives, Company policy, and applicable employment requirements.

    • Coach leaders on employee management, communication, accountability, engagement, and effective leadership practices.

    • Advise leaders on workforce changes, organizational decisions, employee matters, and people-related risks.

    • Identify workforce trends, organizational challenges, and opportunities to improve business and employee effectiveness.

    Employee Relations & Performance Management

    • Own employee relations matters within assigned business groups, including workplace concerns, investigations, policy violations, and manager escalations.

    • Conduct and document objective, timely, and thorough workplace investigations.

    • Coach managers through performance concerns, corrective actions, performance improvement plans, and difficult employee conversations.

    • Review proposed employee actions for consistency, appropriate documentation, risk, and alignment with Company practices.

    • Identify employee relations and performance trends and recommend proactive solutions.

    • Maintain accurate, confidential, and auditable employee relations documentation.

    • Escalate complex, high-risk, or legally sensitive matters to HR leadership as appropriate.

    Policy, Compliance & HR Governance

    • Provide guidance regarding Company policies, HR practices, and applicable federal, state, and local employment requirements.

    • Promote consistent application of HR policies and practices across assigned business groups.

    • Identify and escalate employee-related compliance, policy, and organizational risks.

    • Support HR audits, policy updates, compliance reviews, and related HR initiatives.

    • Partner with HR leadership, Risk, Safety, Legal, and other stakeholders on matters requiring cross-functional review.

    HR Partnership & Workforce Insights

    • Partner with the HR Coordinator on employee lifecycle transactions, documentation, HR systems, onboarding, offboarding, and administrative execution.

    • Partner with the HR Specialist on benefits, leaves of absence, workplace accommodations, and related employee matters.

    • Collaborate with Recruiting, Payroll, Operations, Risk, Safety, and other functions to ensure effective execution of people-related decisions.

    • Monitor workforce data, including turnover, retention, employee relations, performance, headcount, and other relevant indicators.

    • Translate workforce trends and data into meaningful insights and recommendations for leaders.

    • Support HR projects, process improvements, reporting, and strategic initiatives.

    What You Bring

    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.

    • Five or more years of progressive Human Resources experience preferred, including direct employee relations and manager-support responsibilities.

    • Demonstrated experience managing employee relations matters, workplace investigations, performance management, and corrective action.

    • Experience supporting workforce planning, talent management, organizational change, or related HR business-partner activities.

    • Working knowledge of applicable federal and state employment requirements; multi-state HR experience preferred.

    • Strong judgment, communication, relationship-building, coaching, and problem-solving skills.

    • Ability to influence leaders, navigate sensitive employee matters, and appropriately assess and escalate risk.

    • Strong organizational and analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with HRIS, reporting, performance management, and HR workflow systems.

    • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR, or similar HR certification is a plus.

    Compensation & Benefits

    Compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, skills, geographic location, internal equity, and other job-related factors.

    • Salary Range: $90,000-$105,000 YR

    Benefits are subject to applicable plan terms and eligibility requirements.

    Work Location & Travel

    This position is remote within the state of Washington. Periodic travel to Vector, client, operational, or project locations may be required based on business needs.
