    FMI's manufacturing facility has been a leading solutions provider of high temperature materials and composites for more than 50 years, serving the Department of Defense and NASA. The focus in Maine is on multidirectional reinforced Carbon/Carbon (C/C) and Ceramic Matrix Composites (CMCs) that enable high-temperature components such as: thermal protection systems, re-entry vehicle nose tips as well as rocket motor throats and nozzles.

    Our materials are being used on ground-breaking space initiatives such as the Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle and the heat shield for NASA's Mars 2020 mission, important missile programs, airfoils in commercial and military jet engines, and as lightweight armor for U.S. military ground vehicles.


    Your role: FMI is seeking a Human Resources Coordinator to join our collaborative HR team and perform a broad array of administrative tasks to support the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources department. The tasks of the Human Resources Coordinator include, but are not limited to; record-keeping, short-term disability, FMLA, workers compensation, file maintenance, benefits, training, HRIS entry and company sponsored events.

    ** Job Responsibilities:**

    • Collaborate in a team-based environment, providing excellent, friendly and responsive customer service to employees and leadership
    • Manage efficient daily operations of the HR office and provide administrative support including but not limited to managing general HR email inbox, ordering supplies, new hire orientations and other office support duties
    • Provide benefits administration, including enrollments, qualifying life events, and communication
    • Manage leaves of absence for employees by providing information, assisting employees, resolving issues, tracking leaves and reporting payments for payroll processing
    • Process and manage service awards and payroll reimbursements
    • Maintain employee personnel files and training files
    • Participate in team meetings to review the status of outstanding tasks
    • Manage and maintain company organizational charts
    • Assist team with various special projects and company events
    • Utilize HRIS system to pull various reports and data
    • Ensure compliance with employment regulations, including FMLA, FLSA, ADAA, and EEO
    • Expected to maintain all housekeeping items and follow all housekeeping procedures
    • Expected to follow all safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment

    ** What we need from you:**

    • Associate’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
    • At least two years of relevant administrative or HR experience
    • Professional, pleasant, and positive attitude with exceptional verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with professionalism, discretion, and tact
    • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure, and meet deadlines
    • Resourceful and proactive problem-solver, with the flexibility to adapt to ongoing change and continuously improve operations
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with the ability to learn and utilize other technologies as needed
    • Ability to work independently as well as with a team
    • Experience with ADP and/or willingness to learn
