We are seeking an experienced HR Director to lead our human resources function and oversee a small HR team. This role is responsible for the full spectrum of HR operations including recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, and training and development. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills, a strategic mindset, and the ability to navigate complex organizational and legal matters.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a small HR team covering recruitment/talent acquisition, the full HR lifecycle, employee relations, and benefits administration
• Build and implement a robust training infrastructure for Housing and Residential Services field staff
• Strengthen supervisor and senior leadership development programs
• Support labor partner engagement and maintain positive labor relations
• Oversee complex communications in coordination with public records requests and other legal matters
• Manage an approximate $16M staff and benefits budget
• Lead compensation and total rewards strategy
• Coordinate closely with other divisions on payroll and litigation-related matters

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive HR experience with at least 5 years in a leadership role
• Experience managing HR teams and budgets
• Strong knowledge of employment law, labor relations, and compliance
• Experience developing and implementing training programs
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion
• Experience in public sector, housing, or nonprofit environments preferred
• PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification a plus
