    Citizens Bank & Trust is seeking a Human Resources Director to lead the HR function focused on long-term growth and development. This role serves as a trusted advisor to leadership and a key resource for employees across the organization. As a standalone position, this role requires both strong relationship skills and the ability to manage the full scope of human resources operations, from day-to-day execution to long-term improvement of HR practices.

    What You’ll Do

    · Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership while building strong, approachable relationships with employees across 6 locations

    · Lead all core HR functions, including recruiting, onboarding, benefits administration, employee relations, leave management, and compliance

    · Reinforce and integrate the bank’s core values in daily practices, leadership decisions, and employee experience

    · Ensure consistent, fair application of policies and employment practices

    · Maintain accurate and compliant employee records

    · Identify opportunities to improve processes, strengthen practices, and support the bank’s long-term growth and development

    · Provide candid, thoughtful input to leadership on people-related decisions

    · Partner with external counsel on complex employee matters

    Preferred Qualifications

    · Experience in a small organization or standalone HR role

    · Experience in a regulated industry (banking, financial services, healthcare, etc.)

    Work Environment

    · Full-time, Monday–Friday schedule

    · Flexible work schedule balancing in-office presence with remote work based on business needs, meetings, and relationship priorities

    · Based in the Baton Rouge or Plaquemine areas with regular travel to branch locations

    · Occasional evening or weekend involvement

    Transition & Onboarding

    This role includes a 6-month planned transition period working alongside the current Human Resources Director to ensure continuity and provide hands-on training.
