Introduction
OneWay Ministries is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to support the People Development
Team in delivering day-to-day HR services. This role focuses on providing practical HR support,
ensuring staff are cared for, policies are followed, and HR systems run smoothly to support the
organization’s mission.
Role & Purpose
The Human Resources Generalist executes core HR functions to ensure the organization operates
efficiently and staff are supported in their roles. This position works closely with the Director of
People Development and the Leadership Team to maintain compliance, support hiring and onboarding,
and foster a Christ-centered workplace culture.
Key Accountabilities
1.Support effective recruitment, hiring, and onboarding practices across the organization
2.Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
3.Provide day-to-day support in employee relations and workplace matters
4.Assist with HR programs including compensation, benefits, leave, and staff development processes
5.Help maintain organizational policies, procedures, and documentation
Core Responsibilities
Coordinate recruitment and interviewing processes in partnership with managers
Administer HR programs including pay, benefits, leave, performance tracking, recognition, and employee development
Review, track, and document compliance with required trainings, certifications, and continuing education
Respond to employment-related questions from applicants, employees, and supervisors, escalating sensitive matters to the Director of People Development as appropriate
Maintain HR records and ensure policies are followed consistently
Stay informed on HR best practices, employment regulations, and system updates
Support a culture of professionalism, confidentiality, accountability, and Christ-centered care across the organization
Perform other HR-related duties as assigned
Deliverables
Smooth and consistent hiring and onboarding processes that bring the right people into OneWay’s mission
Accurate tracking of HR compliance, trainings, and employee documentation
Well-maintained HR systems for pay, benefits, leave, and employee support
Clear and up-to-date HR policies that provide fairness and consistency
Reliable support to staff and Leadership Team in HR-related matters
Positive staff experience through hands-on people-care and problem-solving
