    Momentum Environmental provides specialized environmental, industrial and waste management services to several leading industries in the northeast. The Human Resources (HR) Generalist works closely with both management and field service teams to implement strategies to foster a positive work environment, manage employee recruitment programs and ensure compliance with labor laws.

    The HR Generalist reports to the HR/Payroll Manager and is responsible for leading the company’s recruiting and hiring efforts while providing support for a variety of Human Resource functions. The position has a heavy focus on attracting, recruiting, screening, interviewing, and onboarding qualified candidates to meet the organization’s dynamic and constant staffing needs.

    Essential Responsibilities

    Recruiting:

    • Manage the full cycle recruitment process for all open positions tailored to the specific needs of the role.
    • Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and develop recruiting strategies.
    • Create, post, manage and update job advertisements on job boards, social media, and other recruiting platforms.
    • Source qualified candidates through online databases, in person networking, employee referrals, career fairs, and community outreach.
    • Review resumes, conduct phone screenings, schedule interviews, and coordinate and support the hiring process.
    • Communicate with candidates throughout the recruitment process to ensure a positive candidate experience.
    • Prepare offer letters and coordinate new hire onboarding.

    Human Resources:

    • Assist with employee onboarding and orientation.
    • Maintain accurate employee files and HR records.
    • Assist with performance management and employee development initiatives.
    • Support training initiatives and employee engagement programs.
    • Provide administrative support for payroll as needed.
    • Provide support for various HR initiatives as required

    • Experience recruiting for skilled trades preferred

    • Strong knowledge of multi-location, blue collar, field services

    • Strong knowledge of employment law and hiring best practices

    • Knowledge of onboarding and new hire orientation processes

    • Problem-solving skills and resourceful thinking

    • Leadership and coaching skills

    • Strong empathy and interpersonal skills

    • Demonstrated proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite

    • Experience with the human resources information systems (HRIS)
