    Truce Law is seeking a part-time Human Resources Generalist (HRG) to support our Operations Team by managing the day-to-day HR functions that keep the firm running smoothly and in compliance. This role focuses on maintaining accurate and compliant employment practices, leading recruiting and retention efforts, and fostering a positive, supportive workplace culture. This role will be M-F, 5 days a week, as part-time. The HRG serves as a trusted partner to the Owner and Operations Manager, ensuring that HR policies and processes align with Truce Law’s mission and commitment to a healthy, people-centered work environment. This position requires sound judgment, discretion, and professionalism while balancing employee needs with the firm’s operational goals. Responsibilities: HR Operations & Compliance • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations. • Maintain and update Trainual (our internal knowledge and policy platform), ensuring all employees acknowledge updates. • Keep accurate, secure personnel records and documentation. • Administer and evaluate compensation and benefit plans in coordination with leadership. • Serve as the main point of contact for employee questions regarding HR policies, benefits, and workplace matters. Talent Acquisition & Recruitment • Lead recruitment strategies to attract top talent who align with Truce Law’s values and performance standards. • Partner with the HR Assistant to manage the full recruitment lifecycle, from job postings and interviews to hiring and onboarding. • Develop and refine job descriptions, interview templates, and scorecards. • Coordinate with leadership to anticipate staffing needs and fill roles promptly. Employee Onboarding, Development & Retention • Lead and continuously improve the onboarding experience for new hires. • Support professional development initiatives and firmwide training efforts. • Assist with developing internal policies and procedures that reflect and strengthen Truce Law’s culture. Performance Management & Employee Relations • Partner with leadership to apply consistent performance management practices, including progressive discipline and improvement plans when needed. • Manage confidential employee concerns with professionalism and discretion. • Promote a healthy, collaborative, and conflict-free work environment. • Track and report on HR metrics such as retention, engagement, and performance trends. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required; Master’s degree is a plus. • Minimum of 5 years of experience as an HR Generalist; law firm experience is a plus. • Strong knowledge of labor laws, HR best practices, and compliance standards. • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is preferred. • Proven ability to work independently, manage confidential information, and build trust with employees and leadership across all levels. Compensation: $29 - $31 hourly
