Human Resources (HR) Generalist – Your Job Duties
You will be a culture champion, a problem solver, an HR decision maker, and the operational glue that keeps the team organized and compliant.
You will:
- Manage the full employee lifecycle including recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, employee relations, leave administration and offboarding
- Partner directly with outside HR attorneys regarding employee relations issues, documentation, handbook administration and compliance matters
- Oversee HR compliance including ACA compliance, wage and hour compliance, California labor law compliance, certifications and required compliance training
- Administer employee benefits programs and oversee HRIS and benefits administration systems including Ease and payroll coordination systems such as Paylocity
- Support payroll administration alongside accounting including timecard review, meal and break compliance, PTO tracking and payroll reporting support
- Respond to EDD and unemployment claims and maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation
- Manage onboarding packets, employee files, compliance reporting and handbook updates
- Serve as a culture champion by coordinating employee celebrations, birthdays, milestones and employee engagement activities
- Support hiring efforts including job postings, interview coordination and candidate communication
- Provide general office administration support including answering phones, greeting visitors, handling mail, office supplies, secretary of state filings, business licenses and insurance coordination
- Support project managers and assistant project managers with administrative coordination and operational support as needed
- Serve as a back up support person for front office operations when needed
Human Resources (HR) Generalist – You Have (Required Skills, Experience & Team Fit)
- Prior experience managing full cycle human resources functions including employee relations, compliance, onboarding and leave administration
- Strong understanding of California wage and hour compliance, ACA requirements and regional labor laws
- Prior experience working with HRIS systems, payroll systems and benefits administration platforms such as Ease, Navigator, Paylocity or related systems
- Strong attention to detail – you are very organized and have a personality for the details
- A hands on mentality where no task is beneath you and you are willing to jump in wherever needed – you are comfortable working in a small office environment where flexibility, teamwork and adaptability matter
Human Resources (HR) Generalist – Benefits for You
Your compensation will be $90,000 to $110,000 annually depending on your experience level and background.
You will work 100% in office in Roseville, California as part of a collaborative, small business environment.
