Position Summary: Arts Bonita is seeking an experienced and dedicated Human Resources Specialist to manage and support all aspects of the organization’s HR operations. This role will play a vital part in fostering a positive workplace culture, supporting recruitment and onboarding, ensuring compliance with employment laws, managing employee relations, and developing HR best practices across the organization. This position may be structured as part-time or full-time depending on the candidate’s availability and organizational fit.
Key Responsibilities:
· Serve as the primary point of contact for HR-related matters across all departments.
· Support the full employee lifecycle including recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, performance reviews, and offboarding.
· Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and HR best practices.
· Maintain and update employee records and documentation in accordance with legal requirements.
· Support department managers and leadership with HR guidance and problem-solving.
· Assist in the development and communication of HR policies and procedures.
· Manage payroll processing and liaise with finance as needed.
· Work closely with the Office Manager to coordinate part-time staff scheduling to ensure efficient use of staff time and contribution to organizational goals.
· Foster a culture of inclusion, collaboration, and professional growth.
· Coordinate training and professional development opportunities.
· Track and report on HR metrics to leadership.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
· Minimum 2–4 years of experience in a human resources role.
· Knowledge of HR laws, regulations, and best practices.
· Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Proficiency with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office.
· Proficiency with ADP is a plus.
· Experience in a nonprofit and arts organization is a plus.
Schedule & Compensation:
· This position can be structured as part-time or full-time, depending on mutual needs.
